I so agree with this! I also found the premise of season 2 being at work to be very hard to swallow given the political/economic climate and how hard it is to get a job. The way we’re forced to smile through abuse and absurdity at work and try to protect ourselves through the unavoidable power imbalance just felt too on the surface for me and it hurt me to watch him attempt to swallow whatever misgivings he was having because this was a job to him, as he understood it.

Whoa this show wasn’t on my radar and this is so dark :( When Gladden says “was that even real?” Brutal. Hidden camera shows always made me sad when I watched as a kid and the Truman Show was one of my favorite movies. It’s fascinating to take a cautionary tale and rebrand it as a straight ahead feel-good, no-moral-qualms story of humanity.
