(36 min) | ‘Tis my plej and honor to present the third episode of the Maybe Baby podcast. This week I’m talking about my decision to “go paid” (lol) and exploring some criticism I received on my last newsletter. It also includes an audio reading of #15 and more context behind my recommendations, if that’s your kink.
I hope this message finds you well, I want to ask your thoughts about everything that went down at manrepeller in June but I realize if that is a hot button issue you might not be able to talk about because of what I assume to be your ongoing friendship with Leandra. Maybe I am overstepping, but I am curious to hear your thoughts.
I really find your voice comforting to listen to and I truly do in enjoy your newsletters! Thanks again
listening to the podcast version, it was even more enlightening in that it sounds like your mom has the gratitude thingy pretty figured out. how she doesn't overthink it, and accepts the paradox of pushing for necessary change while being grateful every step of the way. for some reason it was a revelation that her decor choices didn't really have to mean much, they're sweet sentiments, she didn't mean the sayings on them to be demands on anyone who reads them while passing by, and she's neither overly attached nor detached to them.
i think the common problems with how gratitude is viewed these days is 1. conflating it with small joys, (i got a cookie) and never letting the concept progress beyond something tangible u can hold in ur hand, or conversely, something vast and big like, i'm glad i'm alive. 2. using it for a form of bypassing retroactive fomo and avoiding unpacking pain, THE PAST IS THE PAST, I'M FINE NOW
Hi Haley, I've been following you since your time at Manrepeller and Im excited to read/listen to what you have to say. Im curious to know how you and your boyfriend have grown together and keep each other sane. More or less relationship advice? I was just in a 5yr relationship and starting to fizzle out. Curious about your thoughts?
Hi Hayley, I was wondering what the application process was like to receive a subsidised subscription? I am a student from Australia, love your writing!
