(23 min) | Some people have expressed interest in listening to my newsletter instead of reading it, so starting today I’m going to experiment with sending an audio version a couple days after the written one. These recordings will always come with a little behind-the-scenes info on what I’ve written and some extra context around my recommendations, so whether you didn’t have time to read or just want to know more, there should be a little something for you.
This is great-- I'm not normally much of a listener, but there's something cathartic about hearing your voice. I also think the additional context of each of the articles was useful and made me want to go back and read them more. Great job!
Thank you for sharing this. I have a young baby I don't like staring at my phone in front of. I'm glad I can consume the newsletter while I play with him. I hope you continue as I enjoy listening (reading?) to it.
I really enjoyed the recording and appreciate the additional context you give. Maybe you could read from longer drafts of your newsletter as this medium is often easier to digest than the commitment of a long read. Maybe this is just me, but I would be interested in hearing how you cut/omit from drafts. I hesitate to give any criticism because I really enjoyed the flow of consciousness style that the recording had but as you emphasized your openness to feedback, here goes: I did get a little distracted by the number of times you said "um" and "uh". but it was great plz continue
Loved this podcast recording! I already enjoy reading your newsletters, but this is an excellent method of adding context and feels more intimate in ways. Like we really were just talking on the phone!
This is really great, thank you for sharing your newsletter in this format! I don't often listen to podcasts, for a whole bunch of reasons but number one being my disgraceful attention span when it comes to listening (I start of with such good intentions but then i just zone out and ... forget to listen? It is a curse) but I really enjoyed yours and can see myself listening to it in this form in the future - its a reasonable length, your content is always spot on and you have an incredibly pleasant speaking voice! I hope you continue to share it in this way.
LOVED listening to your writing. The glimpse inside of your thought process was really interesting (lol). I feel like I can listen to these while I work too which is great
Haley, thank you for this! Listening is sometimes far more convenient, but it also feels that much more personal when we get to hear it coming directly from you. I second everyone who has complemented your soothing voice! And the quality was more than ok, actually made me consider working with my own closet as a makeshift quarantine recording studio – maybe it's time to get reacquainted with the hems of my dresses :D
Thank you so much for writing and now reading to us! I've been working from home alone for months (and will probably be for the rest of the year) and I've been listening to podcast to try and feel less lonely while my boyfriend is at work. This is all I needed to keep me company. Thank you! Can't wait for the next one :)

You have a such a nice podcast voice!
Loved listening over reading! I feel like we get a little extra because you added in your thought process behind the articles shared etc.
