(28 mins) | Excited to share episode two of the Maybe Baby podcast, now featuring music! (I watched a YouTube video on editing and am feeling EMPOWERED.) Just like last week, this is a reading of my latest newsletter, “My brain is melting in suburbia,” plus some extra thots & context.
I’m so excited we all get to engage with your incredible writing in more than one way. The podcast is making your work so much for accesible too! I also live in nyc (quarantining alone)so, reading your newsletters every week brought me a lot of comfort. Finally coming to this one, (I too recently ~retreated~ to stay with family for a while in Florida) share a lot of the same sentiments as you. Being back in the suburbs after so long strikes you, in a way. Grappling with that dichotomy is both internal and external, leaving one unsure with what to do with the mixed feelings.
I’m sure I speak for many when I say, I look forward to sundays for your reflections on this ever changing world and radical times we are living it.
I love your newsletter and I love podcasts and I want them to be together! When I paste the URL into my podcast app (castbox) it says URL is incorrect. HALP!
Hi! You shouldn't have to paste! If you click the little button underneath the email player that says "listen in podcast app," it should prompt you to pick a podcast app and open via a "pop-up subscription." Let me know if you did that and are still having trouble!
When I click the podcast apps it just thinks for a second and nothing happens. Maybe because I have an Android? I don't know. Don't worry too much about it 🤠
I think 15 is a perfect amount for the list of things consumed. A little overwhelming as I end up deep diving into most of them, but it's a great curation of content to spend my Sunday morning reading! Also, it always seems oddly relevant to my life. :)
After your last recording I had a thought about how difficult it must be to say “maybe baby” and found myself whispering it several (too many) times under my breath. This was both an accidental exercise in mindfulness and a welcome break for my brain. Truly the gift that keeps on giving.

In solidarity.

Hahaha wait right?? it's a full tongue twister
For some reason the funny parts are funnier when i’m reading them. It’s almost like your writing has more voice then... your voice! Or
maybe i’m crazy. Maybe put more personality into the reading of the newsletter? Or maybe don’t, IDK! Either way, love the newsletter<3
