(23 mins) | I’m here to present you with the next episode of the Maybe Baby podcast, which includes a reading of #20: “Who are you online?” along with some truly off-the-leash monologuing.
Read the newsletter, skip the recommendations (I need to read and click on those) and then do a podcast only meta session on writing the newsletter for that week and maybe even insights you gained, thoughts provoked, whatever from the comments you reviewed after posting.
Haley! Your newsletter (and now podcast!) is a weekly delight. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Regarding your recs, I love your thoughtful selections, but they fall flat in the audio format. I find myself referring back to the newsletter (which I do anyway), but I wonder if that time could be used to offer something unique!
As I mentioned before I like hearing the actual newsletter in audio form, because I pick up on stuff that I might have missed reading it. But I especially like the added value of the podcast, which is the explanations, including for the recommendations.
Oh and by the way, a confession, I hated the music and skipped/avoided it like I would a radioactive rabies-infested flock of bats, even though that's more effort than just, like, enduring it for a couple seconds. Until you mentioned you were looking for the most twee shit ever, and now I think it kind of adds a little to the concept of the podcast.
I like hearing your explanations! I like the back stories and somehow it makes them more personal. Maybe it’s because I’m quarantining alone, so I crave any voice connection I can get right now lol. I mainly listen to the podcast and go back and look at things afterward. I really look forward to this newsletter every week btw! Much appreciation for all that you share.
I def prefer reading the recommendations because there are more links and visuals involved than in the first bit, but expanded explanations would be very cool!
I really like the recommendations and extended explanations! Sometimes, though, I leap to read the newsletter on Sundays so I don't feel that I need to listen to the newsletter when it comes out on Tuesdays. Will leave another comment when I have a more productive idea on that front

I like the recs! Maybe just cover a few out of the list rather than all? (Ramen doesn't need much justification!)
I love the recs! And your context around the recs. I vote keep the recs!
I think spending more time with a the recs that lend themselves to audio makes sense. I'd be interested in an interview with Molly Young.
ugh. with *the recs

I like the extended explanations for recs!
